China Agricultural University (CAU), Bejing

The China Agricultural University (CAU) in Beijing is the leading university in Asia in the field of agricultural sciences. The CAU conducts research with 13 institutes in the fields of agriculture, life sciences, resources, environment, electronic data processing, computer science, agricultural engineering, management and social sciences. CAU and the University of Hohenheim can look back on almost 40 years of successful cooperation. The joint German-Chinese Research Training Group (IRTG) on "Modeling Material Flows and Production Systems for Sustainable Resource Use in Intensified Crop Production in the North China Plain" was a flagship project of German-Chinese cooperation. It was established in 2004 as the first German-Chinese Research Training Group by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Chinese Ministry of Education. In October 2018, a new joint Research Training Group will start. DFG has approved around 5.8 million € for the Research Training Group "Adaptation of Maize-Based Food-Feed-Energy Systems to Limited Phosphate Resources".

Sino-German School for Postgraduate Studies (CDHK), Tongji University. Shanghai

The Sino-German School for Postgraduate Studies (CDHK) was jointly established by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Tongji University in 1998, and counts as the most succesful project in the area of scientific exchange between both countries. In 2-3 years students from all around China receive Master degrees at the faculties of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, vehicle technology as well as business (including commercial law). Very unique are the 23 endowed chairs which are financed by international renowned companies. Besides the industry funding, the CDHK receives funding by the German Federal Foreign Office.

Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), Chengdu

Founded in 1925, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) is one of the leading research universities in China focusing on business and economics studies in ‘project 211’. Under the direct administration of China’s Ministry of Education, SWUFE is also the “985” innovation platform for superiority subject and the national education system reform pilot colleges and universities. It earned the EQUIS accreditation in 2014 and a 5-year accreditation of Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation. Its master program in management was ranked 90th by Financial Times in 2016. SWUFE has established over 140 partners worldwide in Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania. SWUFE has nurtured an array of excellent leading figures in finance, business and government among its 140,000 alumni.

STIHL Group

The STIHL Group develops, manufactures and distributes power tools for professional forestry and agriculture as well as for garden and landscape maintenance, the construction sector and the demanding private user. The range of garden power tools from VIKING complements the product line. Products are distributed exclusively through authorized dealers, including 37 sales and marketing subsidiaries, about 120 importers and more than 45,000 servicing dealers in over 160 countries. STIHL produces in own plants in seven countries: Germany, USA, Brazil, Switzerland, Austria, China and in the Philippines. Since 1971 STIHL has been the world’s top-selling chain saw brand. The company was founded in 1926 and is based in Waiblingen near Stuttgart. In 2016, STIHL achieved a worldwide sales volume of 3.46 billion euros with a workforce of 14,920.

Enolcon GmbH

Enolcon is a consultancy and engineering company specializing in the field of energy production and energy efficiency based on renewable energy sources (e.g. solar, biomass), high-efficiency conventional power plants (e.g. coal fired plants, CHP cogeneration plants, waste-to-energy plants), exhaust gas purification (SCR-DeNOx) and thermal energy storage.

In the area of high-temperature thermal energy storage, enolcon has been developing its own storage system since 2009, which in the meantime is commercially available via Storasol GmbH. It is based on a fixed bed of small gravel silica sand and offers a robust and cost-effective solution for storing heat up to 600 ° C.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Stuttgart Region (CCI Stuttgart) is one of the largest Chambers in Germany with approximately 160.000 member companies. It advocates the interests of the companies in politics and administration and their need for a business friendly environment. Being a service provider for the regional economy the CCI stimulates and supports the start-up business community, plays a crucial role in the design of the German dual-based vocational training system and advises companies on country specific market information and legal framework. The Chamber also assumes several other tasks of the state such as issuing of custom certificates. The CCI maintains a close relationship with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), which are represented in 130 locations in 90 countries worldwide.

The Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS) is the central contact point for investors and companies in the City of Stuttgart and the five surrounding counties.
